Instructions for ABM Online Access
All AIB members are required to login from this page to have full access to the ABM Archive. Once logged in, you will see a ABM Online Access button above, that when clicked will take you to the Springer Link site, through a special referral link which will automatically provide you with access to the archives. Once you get to the Palgrave site, you will not get an indication that you have logged in or that you have full access to the archives. However, as you browse the Table of Contents and click on an article, you will automatically be able to download the articles.

Q: Can I bookmark the ABM website once I follow the link above?
A: Bookmarking the website will not allow you to get full-text access the next time you come back to the page. However, you can bookmark this current page and follow the link above every time.
Q: Do I need to register or login on the Palgrave site?
A: No. The registration and login features on the Springer Link site are for subscribers who have subscribed to various publications directly through Springer Link (or Palgrave), and do not apply for AIB members. You will not be able to register or login on the Springer Link site to access the full-text articles. If when you click on any of the full-text files, you get to the login page, this is an indication that the referral from this page to Springer Link did not working properly for you. Please try coming back to this page and try following the link again. If it still doesn't work, please see the next question.
Q: I have followed all the instructions above, but I still cannot access the archives. Can you help me?
The authorization for AIB members to access ABM archives are given through a web-based technique commonly referred to as "referral link". The Springer Link page that the ABM Online Access button above connects to looks to see where the user is coming from. When it notices that the user originated from this specific page on the AIB site, it tells the Springer Link system that the user is authorized and can access the ABM Archives.
Even though the technique itself is harmless and has numerous beneficial applications, some parties can also utilize it as a part of a system to track your browsing patterns on the Internet. Therefore, through browser settings, internet security software, privacy software, pop-up blockers, or firewalls, some computers are set-up to block referral information from being passed through. If this is the case, you will not be able to access the ABM archives, until you allow the referral information to pass through.
To test whether the process is working or not, visit the following page:
http://www.palgrave-journals.com/pal/test_referral.html. Following the instructions on that page will tell you whether your system allows the referral information through. If the referral information is passing through, you should be able to access the archives fine, please try again. If it's not working, then contact email@example.com. Please remember to identify yourself as an AIB society member, and mention that you were logging in through the referral page on AIB's website.
If the referral information is NOT passing through, then you need to figure out which software on your computer is blocking this information from passing through. At this point, it's practically impossible for us to help you out since there are too many different software that may be the cause of it. If you are not familiar with all the software installed on your computer, please find someone who is. Essentially, your goal will be to "enable referral links", or if the software has a feature to define "trusted sites", to add aib.msu.edu and link.springer.com to the list of trusted sites. After changing all your settings, go to the referral test link above to make sure that the referral information is being passed through, and then try accessing the ABM archives again. If you're still having trouble at this stage, then please contact firstname.lastname@example.org.
