Bio: David A. Ricks is State of Missouri Curators’ Professor of Management and International Business and Director of International Business Programs at the University of Missouri – St. Louis.

He formerly taught at Ohio State University, the University of South Carolina, and at Thunderbird. He has served AIB in many capacities, most notably as the Editor-in-Chief of JIBS (1985-1992) and as Treasurer (1981 and 1982). He has also served as Chair of the International Management Division of the Academy of Management (1988-1989) and was the founding Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of International Management (1995-1997).

Professor Ricks has written twelve books, including Blunders in International Business, and has done research on such topics as cross cultural communication, foreign direct investment, and international competitiveness. His outside interests include the casting of gold and silver objects using the lost wax method, astronomy, and travel.
