Bio: Roger Strange is Professor of International Business at the University of Sussex Business School, UK. He was previously Professor of International Business at King’s College London, and has been a Visiting Professor at the University of Pavia (Italy), Osaka University (Japan), Kobe University (Japan), Nankai University (China), and the University of Vale do Itajaí (Brazil).

His research focuses on four main areas of International Business: the reasons for the outsourcing of primary activities and the externalization of production in global value chains (GVCs); the effects of corporate governance factors on foreign direct investment (FDI) decisions; the determinants of MNE subsidiary location; and the impact of new digital technologies on international business theory and practice. He is a co-author of Ghauri, Grønhaug & Strange (2020), Research methods in business studies (Cambridge University Press).

Roger is currently the co-Editor-in-Chief of International Business Review. He is also a member of the Editorial Review Boards of the Journal of International Business Studies, the Journal of International Business Policy, the Journal of World Business, Global Strategy Journal, the Journal of Management & Governance, and the Asia Pacific Business Review. He is a Fellow and a former President of the European International Business Academy (EIBA).
