Bio: Dr. Ulf Andersson is Professor of Business Studies at Mälardalen University, Sweden, and Adjunct Professor at BI Norwegian Business School. He was a Professor of International Business at Uppsala University, where he also earned his doctoral degree, and Professor of Strategy and International Management at Copenhagen Business School. He has held visiting positions at Leeds University Business School (UK), Boccòni University (Italy), WU Wien (Austria), KU Leuven University (Belgium), Johannes Keppler University (Austria), Swedish School of Economics (Finland).
Ulf is Senior Editor of Journal of World Business since 2017 and has served as Area Editor of the Journal of International Business Studies between 2011–2016 and is a member of the editorial board of, among others; Journal of International Business Studies, Global Strategy Journal, International Business Review. His research focuses on subsidiary development, knowledge governance and transfer in MNEs, network theory, the strategy and management of the MNE. He has published more than 80 journal articles, books, and book sections on these topics and his work is published in Journal of International Business Studies, Strategic Management Journal, Organization Studies, Journal of World Business, Global Strategy Journal, International Business Review and other leading journals. Books include Managing the Contemporary Multinational: The Role of Headquarters (w/U. Holm). Dr. Andersson received the AIB silver medal for frequency of substantive contributions to JIBS in 2019.
He has served on the board of the European International Business Academy (EIBA) 2006–2009, as the Secretary of AIB-Western Europe chapter 2007–2011 and is member of the executive committee at the AIB-UK & Ireland chapter 2014–present.
He is a founding member of the successful Nord-IB program; a partnership initiated in 1999 among the top Nordic business schools to provide a research school in international business.
