Selection Process

Established in 2022, this award is given to a paper that has strong applied and actionable content for IB practitioners and/or educators. All papers accepted for presentation in an AIB Annual Meeting competitive session are eligible for this award. Initial nominations are identified by the track chairs. Final nominees and the winner are chosen by the AIB Insights Editorial Board.

In 2025, thanks to the generous sponsorship of Simon Fraser University’s Beedie School of Business, this award was renamed in honor of 2014 International Educator of the Year and Honorary AIB Fellow Daniel Shapiro.
