Whether they’re fully endowed professors or doctoral students just starting their career, our members are producing research that’s shaping the future of International Business. Each year, we recognize their innovative efforts with a set of prestigious awards—an incredible achievement for any IB scholar to have on their CV.
Want to know how you could be eligible for one of these awards? Here are a couple fast facts to get you started.
If you’ve submitted a paper to AIB 2020, you may already be under consideration for an award.
For most of the awards given by AIB, the work you’ve submitted for presentation at the conference doubles as your award application. Our track chairs each select a paper they believe best fulfills the award criteria and pass their recommendations along to our selection committees.
There are a few exceptions to this standard. For example, the Buckley and Casson Dissertation Award requires a separate application process while the AIB Doctoral Dissertation Proposal Award requires participation in one of our pre-conference workshops.
For a full break-down of each award’s eligibility criteria and selection process, visit our AIB 2020 Awards Page.
Who are some of the big-name scholars who’ve won these awards in the past?
While we can’t guarantee an AIB award will be a one-way ticket to academic superstardom, if you browse through the lists of past winners you may notice that a number of our current AIB Fellows and Executive Board members are also past honorees. We haven’t run the numbers yet to confirm the correlation, but it’s a promising area for future study.

Best of luck to all our conference participants—we hope to see you on-stage at our end-of-conference award ceremony!
