Event Overview: Firms, in their urge to broaden business scope, internationalize operations and often tend to face strategic complexities. Such “strategic” and “organizational” challenges obstruct their competitiveness in the international markets. It has become more chaotic post pandemic and with increased regional tensions. Strategic considerations while going beyond home country, configuring and coordinating business activities, roles of foreign subsidiaries, cross-border strategic alliances, etc. are some of the decisions which an organization must take while internationalizing. It has become essential for any program in international business to address such strategic issues. The relevance of these issues are further heightened by the east-west divide, global value chain, emergence of global protectionism, the Korean disturbances, digital terrorism, ESG compliances, etc.
This workshop aims to provide insights on the design and teaching of courses on International Business Strategy by providing a model course curriculum and an overview of its key pedagogic features. This workshop will also cover aspects of evaluation and expected course outcomes.
