Tentative Tour Schedule

Visit to Miami’s Wynwood District

Tour Date: July 2 (Half-day)

Overview: Explore the area’s development from a warehouse district to a center for arts and culture—the entrepreneurial vision, the public-private efforts including rezoning, attraction of the art elite, and community building. This process is now taking place in Little Haiti and Allapattah which may provide additional alternatives by the time of the conference. This trip may also include a visit to the Cambridge Innovative Center (CIC).

Visit to South Beach and FIU’s Wolfsonian Museum

Tour Date: July 2 (Half-day)

Overview: Meet at FIU’s Wolfsonian Museum to discuss the past and future of Miami Beach—historical preservation efforts, demographic changes, and challenges anticipated resulting from climate change.

Port of Miami Tour

Tour Date: July 3 (Half-day Morning)

Overview: Meet with cruise company executives to discuss sustainability initiatives, environmental regulations on oceans, sexual harassment and other crime control policies, and passenger safety efforts.
