At AIB 2020, Networking has Never Been Easier

Just because our Annual Meeting is being held online doesn’t mean you can’t meet up with your AIB colleagues and collaborators. AIB 2020’s online platform includes a dedicated Meeting Hub where conference participants can invite each other to connect, have live chat sessions, schedule one-on-one video conferences, and much more.

With the Meeting Hub, your networking opportunities at AIB 2020 Online are virtually endless. Read our intro guide below to learn more about how it works.

Start Making Connections

Our AIB 2020 Meeting Hub is a great way to connect with other conference attendees. Use the left-hand menu to find another event participant and invite them to become a “Connection” (think of this as AIB 2020’s version of a Facebook friend or a LinkedIn connection). Once the connection invitation has been accepted, you’ll be able to interact with that attendee in lots of different ways, including Live Chat sessions and one-on-one video Meetings.

Find Your Favorite Way to Chat

Once another conference attendee has been added to your “Connections”, there are lots of different ways you can interact with them. In the example below, on the right-hand window you can see the messages being exchanged with Alicia Yamamoto in a current Live Chat session. You could also use audio for your discussion by selecting the “Call” tab or video using the “Meeting” tab. Lastly, the “Profile” and “About” tabs allow you to view the information Alicia has shared about her professional background and research interests.

Schedule a Convenient Time to Meet

With attendees joining AIB 2020 Online from all around the world, time zone differences can make it difficult to find a mutually convenient time for a Live Chat. Fortunately, meeting requests can be scheduled to take place at a specific time that you and your Connection both have available.

In the example below, you can see in the lower left-hand pop-up window that our demo user has accepted a meeting with Paul Masters on June 19, starting at 8:00am. To help you remember this appointment, our online platform will automatically add any accepted meetings to your personal conference agenda.
