Who is Should Attend This Event?

Are you doing research that can be communicated effectively in a short (approximately 2500 word) article that is interesting, topical, current, and thought-provoking? Would such an article address theoretical, empirical, practical, or pedagogical issues of value to the broad community of IB scholars, practitioners, policy makers, and educators – with an emphasis on applied insights? If your response to both questions is “Yes”, then this event is for you, because AIB Insights provides an outlet for precisely such work!

Writing for AIB Insights requires a different approach, relative to journals such as JIBS or JIBP. This paper development workshop will enable scholars to gain developmental feedback on ideas and manuscripts that they are considering for submission to AIB Insights. We invite original submissions and ideas from researchers at all levels of experience.

How is This Event Structured?

The 90-minute workshop is planned as follows:

  • 30 minutes: Overview of AIB Insights, with an emphasis on writing for the journal
  • 40 minutes: Break-out sessions for feedback on submitted idea papers (see below), from members of the AIB Insights editorial team
  • 20 minutes: Q&A

How Can I Submit a Paper Idea?

To participate in the AIB Insights PDW, we invite scholars to upload short (maximum of 1000 words) manuscripts that present an idea for a potential AIB Insights submission, through AIB’s Online Submission Portal. Once you’ve entered the manuscript submission form, select the “AIB Insights Paper Development Workshop” track.

Authors of accepted idea papers will have the opportunity to receive detailed comments on the manuscript from members of our editorial team (editors and/or members of the editorial review board) during the PDW.

The deadline for submissions is 15 May 2022 (extended!), in the submitting author’s time zone. Please consult the AIB InsightsFor Authors” page when preparing the submission.

What Should I Do if My Submission is Accepted?

By submitting a manuscript, you are committing that at least one of the idea paper’s authors will participate in the PDW if the submission is accepted. Participants must register for the AIB 2022 meeting in order to attend the AIB Insights PDW.
