What is the Purpose of this Workshop?

The purpose of the PDW is to provide feedback to junior scholars and doctoral students on their research projects that are at an initial idea stage of development.  Consistent with the mission of the Journal of International Management and Asia Pacific Journal of Management, the objective is to encourage scholars to do high-quality research on topical issues that have potential to make significant impact in the areas of international business, strategy, and management.  While we certainly hope that the authors will develop their work and submit to JIM and APJM, there is no obligation to do so.

How Can I Submit a Paper?

The deadline for submitting a paper is 15 February 2021. Papers should be submitted via the AIB’s Online Submission Portal. Once you’ve entered the manuscript submission form, select the “JIM-APJM Paper Development Workshop” track.

We invite interested participants to submit short idea papers that are anywhere between 2,500 and 5,000 words in length. Space in this PDW will be limited to 20 papers.

Each participant may submit only one manuscript for the JIM-APJM PDW. The cover page of the manuscript should include all authors’ names, e-mails, and affiliations. Manuscripts will be selected based on the fit with the journals and the quality of their submitted work.

How Will This Event Be Structured?

This workshop will consist of three major activities:

  • 15 minutes: Overview of JIM and APJM aims, scope, and performance.
  • 60 minutes: Feedback by panelists on selected papers in small groups.
  • 15 minutes: Panelists answer questions from the audience.

  • Vikas Kumar, Editor-in-Chief, JIM

  • Debamalya Mukherjee, Associate Editor, APJM

What Should I Do if My Paper is Accepted?
