AIB 2025: Junior Faculty Consortium

Who is This Event For?

The 2025 Academy of International Business (AIB) Junior Faculty Consortium will be held on Sunday, June 29, 2025. The consortium is designed to facilitate and further the personal and career development of early-stage (post-PhD) academics whose research touches, at least in part, on international or comparative business broadly defined. The consortium will provide plenty of opportunity for interaction, both among junior faculty participants and between junior and senior faculty. There will also be time for junior faculty to discuss their research program and/or a specific research project, and teaching development and career plans.

All junior faculty members who are active in research and teaching in the broad field of international business are invited to participate. Although preference will be given to those who have obtained their PhD no more than three years ago, the consortium aims to be as inclusive as possible.

How is This Event Structured?

The consortium will be held in person and will feature the following activities:

• 8 am – 11am: Panel Discussion with Q&A with senior faculty & small-group sessions with junior and senior colleagues
• 11:15 am – 12 pm: Ethics and AI Workshops
• 12 pm – 1 pm: Lunch
• 1 pm – 4 pm: Reviewing Workshop

Which Senior Faculty Mentors are Taking Part in the Consortium?

The panel of senior academics for the 2025 Junior Faculty Consortium will consist of distinguished international business scholars with extensive research, teaching and service experience and publication records, and broad perspectives on academic careers.

How Can I Apply to Participate?

To apply, please e-mail the following two documents to tl.egb@cbs.dk by 31 January 2025:

1. A CV (max 3 pages) listing your educational background, research accomplishments and interests; what courses you have taught or are interested in teaching; any significant service activities you have been involved in; and other information you deem relevant.
2. A two-page description of your research program, including the research projects you are currently involved in, and the main theoretical perspectives and methodologies you use.

Is Stipend Support Available to Take Part in the Consortium?

Due to the generous support of the Boeing Institute of International Business, Saint Louis University, a few travel grants are available for participants in need of financial support to attend the consortium. If you would like to apply for one of these travel stipends, please include a separate letter with your consortium application, stating your request to be considered for this financial support. The letter should include the following information:

1. An estimate of your travel costs, specifying the city and country from which you will be traveling
2. An indication of whether any travel funds are likely to be available from your university
3. Whether you are currently an AIB member, and
4. Whether you have previously received a travel stipend from AIB.
