Call for Proposals

Note: The target destinations above are based on AIB’s preferred rotation pattern. However, AIB remains flexible in considering bids for alternate locations or years to accommodate any contingencies that may restrict the bidding ability of the local party, including funding deadlines, city-wide events, or other considerations. 

Annual Meeting Profile

The Academy of International Business (AIB) is the foremost not-for-profit professional association for scholars and specialists in international business. AIB’s mission is to create, nurture, and empower a global community of scholars dedicated to advancing and disseminating knowledge in international business research, education, policy, and practice.

  • Event Timing: 5-day event, last week of June (preferred) or first week of July
  • Attendance:  900-1400 participants
  • Participant Profile: Mostly academics and doctoral students. Limited participation from industry and NGOs. Participants will represent 60+ countries, with approximately 30% North American, 30% European, 30% Asian, and 10% representing other regions.
  • Exhibitor Profile:  10-15 exhibitors — typically scientific publishers (academic books, journals, cases), educational services firms (study abroad organizers), educational software companies (simulations or other tech solutions), and sometimes research institutions and/or NGOs.
  • Host Institution Requirement:  Involvement of a local research institution (university, scientific agency, or local association) is strongly preferred, but not required.
