Kuala Lumpur is known as a true “melting pot” where modern infrastructure stands alongside rich historical heritage, offering visitors a tangible example of rapid economic development paired with cultural preservation. Home to a diverse population of over 8.8 million people, few locations within Kuala Lumpur’s metropolitan region demonstrate this dynamic better than Sunway City. a family-friendly, city-within-a-city developed on the site of a former tin-mining operation.
A whole lot is packed into this 800-acre tourist hub, including the Sunway Pyramid Mall, Sunway Lagoon Theme Park, and all of our main Annual Meeting venues. With all of these facilities being located in a common area, the small amount of navigation required of conference attendees will be easily accomplished on foot or with the assistance of public transportation. Known as a “Fifteen-Minute City” because of its compact layout and exceptional connectivity to other areas of Kuala Lumpur, it will also make a convenient “home base” for adventurous AIB members planning to tour Malaysia more broadly before or after the conference.

Sunway Lagoon Hotel, Sunway Resort Hotel, and Sunway Pyramid Hotel
What happens here? Together, these three hotels will serve as lodging for a majority of AIB 2027 Kuala Lumpur attendees—special, discounted rates will be made available to AIB members around the same time that registration opens, in the first quarter of 2027.
The Sunway Resort Hotel will also host the Annual Meeting’s Opening and Closing Plenary sessions, along with their complementary social receptions.

Sunway Business School
What happens here? Sunway University’s Business School will host AIB 2027’s Pre-Conference Programming, also serving as the primary venue for all Parallel Sessions held during our Main Conference.

Sunway Lagoon
What happens here? Sunway Lagoon is a family-friendly theme park located at the center of Sunway City. On a typical day, tourists are invited to enjoy the park’s many rides and attractions, including a zoo with over 150 different animal species and the world’s largest surf pool. The evening of 29 June, however, its Surf Beach area will be transformed for the exclusive use AIB members at our Kuala Lumpur Celebration.
