We are pleased to announce that AIB has been awarded a grant from the Sheth Foundation, a not-for-profit organization founded by Professor Jagdish Sheth of Emory University, with the goal of supporting academic scholarship, education, and research primarily in the discipline of marketing.
AIB intends to apply this new funding toward a number of planned and ongoing marketing-related initiatives, including:
- Supporting activities of the AIB International Marketing Taskforce. The Taskforce comprises several distinguished scholars in international marketing from among the AIB membership. Their guiding mission is to foster greater participation by marketing academics in the activities of AIB.
- Developing training modules in contemporary theory and methods for research in international marketing. These modules are intended for doctoral students and junior faculty in emerging markets, where the AIB intends to deepen its reach.
- Crafting a masterclass on international marketing to be delivered at a future AIB Annual Meeting.
This latest grant is yet one more example of the Sheth Foundation generously backing AIB activities in recent years. The Sheth/AIB Doctoral Consortium, an integral part of AIB’s Annual Meeting, carries the Sheth name in recognition of their long-standing support for our association’s early-career scholars, delivered in the form of both program development funds and doctoral travel stipends. Sheth Foundation funding has also enabled AIB to dramatically expand its paper development workshop offerings within emerging markets.
We are grateful to the Sheth Foundation for supporting AIB activities on scholarship and education in international marketing. We aim to continue building on this foundation in the weeks and years to come—stay tuned to our association homepage and social media for future updates on how Sheth Foundation funds are being used to support international marketing-related initiatives.
